Our Approach

We are a 100% relationship based dog training operation. That means, we will never use fear and aversives to train. On the flip side, we don’t believe in turning you into a human pez dispenser for treats. We believe in pairing rewards, such as treats and toys, with your smile and praise so that your dog learns to work for you because of one crucial goal: it makes the two of you happy.

Working for you and your dog

Relationship based training is designed specifically for you and your needs. Anyone can show up to your home and give you a standard list of things to do to hopefully resolve a behavior for your dog. At Blue Moon Training we know that you aren’t cookie cutter, you’re uniquely you. This is why we take a holistic approach to provide you with real solutions specific to you, your dog, and your household as a whole. You will receive realistic training exercises designed for the goals you want to reach.

In-person and remote options

While working primarily out of Bastrop and surrounding areas, we also offer remote options such as video sessions and phone consultations.

Who We Are

After adopting a shelter rescue with behavior issues, Cecilia found the wonderful world of dog training when she began to work with her own pup, Blue. After completely immersing herself in training she succeeded in helping Blue, not only through his training, but into dog sports and more. Now, a decade later, she has branched out on her own to bring a sustainable and affordable dog training experience to the people of Bastrop and the surrounding areas.
