Training that you and your dog deserve

The Methodology

We specialize in relationship based training, which means pairing all the good things your dog enjoys with your emotion. We take this approach because when your dog’s greatest motivator is your relationship, then you have the most solid foundation for training possible. When you train with aversives (prong collars, choke collars, e collars) you are introducing a fear response. You might see quick results with tools like these however, you are not treating the core reason the behavior is being seen and you are creating a relationship of distrust between yourself and your dog. On the flip side, if you are becoming a human pez dispenser for your dog then you are creating a dog that only wants to work if they know there is a reward to be gained. The mid-point here is relationship based training, where mutual happiness is the reward, communication is clear and respect is given all around.

The Trainer

My name is Cecilia and I’ve been working with dogs for almost a decade now. When I sought out training for my own rescue, I immediately knew that this was a field I needed to know everything about. I worked at several facilities, finally landing at a behavior center where I learned from some of the very best minds in the business. Now that I have begun training on my own, in addition to my current clients, I have been lucky enough to partner with organizations such as TRAPRS and PAWS to help dogs both in the shelter and in foster overcome their behavior issues and find their forever homes.

My ultimate goal is to help both pet owners and their dogs live their best lives together.
